HydroSHEDS Legacy Data Archive
This page provides an archive of the original version 1.0 of HydroSHEDS data in BIL, GRID and shapefile formats. These data are now obsolete and we recommend that users who do not explicitly require these legacy formats use version 1.1 of HydroSHEDS core data in GeoTIFF format instead.
Data format and layers
This page contains HydroSHEDS raster layers in BIL and GRID format and in resolutions from 3 arc-seconds to 30 arc-seconds, plus a flow direction grid in 5 arc-minute resolution. All 3 arc-second products are offered in 5x5 degree tiles. The tile names are defined by a 7-digit identifier which refers to the latitude and longitude of the lower-left (southwest) corner of the tile. For all other resolutions, data are available in continental tiles. For details regarding the HydroSHEDS core products in this archive, please consult the HydroSHEDS Technical Documentation of the legacy version.
This archive also provides vector layers delineating river reaches and river basins, derived from the HydroSHEDS raster data. These layers are legacy versions of the newer HydroRIVERS and HydroBASINS products, which provide enhanced hydrographic information and hierarchically nested sub-basins.

Users looking for river reaches with additional hydrographic information should instead use the newer HydroRIVERS product.
