Initial hosting of the database was provided by the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Data Center of the US Geological Survey (USGS), Sioux Falls SD, USA. Input data sources were provided by the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Cali, Colombia; the Centre for Environmental Systems Research (CESR), Kassel, Germany; and the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.
